Filling the Gap in the Metallacrown Family: The 9‐MC‐3 Chromium Metallacrown

2021

Abstract In this work, we report on a long‐sought missing complex in the metallacrown family. We synthesized and characterized the novel chromium metallacrown (MC) complex {CrIII(μ 2‐piv)3[9‐MCCr(III)N(shi)‐3](morph)3}⋅MeOH (in which shi3−=salicyl hydroxamate, piv=pivalate, and morph=morpholine). The MC with a 9‐MC‐3 cavity of kinetically inert chromium(III) ions was synthesized by a solvothermal reaction. Magnetization measurements reveal a high spin ground state.

Modelling temperature-dependent dynamics of single and mixed infections in a plant virus

2022

Multiple viral infection is an important issue in health and agriculture with strong impacts on society and the economy. Several investigations have dealt with the population dynamics of viruses with different dynamic properties, focusing on strain competition during multiple infections and the effects on viruses’ hosts. Recent interest has been on how multiple infections respond to abiotic factors such as temperature (T). This is especially important in the case of plant pathogens, whose dynamics could be affected significantly by global warming. However, few mathematical models incorporate the effect of T on parasite fitness, especially in mixed infections. Here, we investigate simple mat…

Electronic Absorption Spectra of HXeCl, HXeBr, HXeI, and HXeCN in Xe Matrix

2000

The electronic UV absorption spectra of thermal reaction products H−Xe−Y (Y= Cl, Br, I, or CN) have been measured in solid Xe at 12 K. The spectra are obtained after the annealing of an extensively...

Thermal 1,6-Electrocyclization Reactions of Acceptor-Substituted 2,3-Divinyl-1H-indoles Yielding Functionalized Carbazoles

1990

Three new synthetic procedures for and thermal 1,6-electrocyclizations of acceptor-substituted 2,3-divinyl-1H-indoles leading to functionalizing carbazoles are described. The scope and limitations as well as some mechanistic aspects of the methodologies are discussed. The key strategies employed include Pd(II)-catalyzed coupling and Wittig procedures.

A novel class of interpenetrated 3-D network of a dimeric cupric-tetracarboxylate unit

2002

The hydrothermal reaction of Cu(II), fumaric acid and 4,4′-bipyridine (bpy) in equimolar amounts at 160 °C resulted in a new type of two-fold interpenetrating 3-D coordination network composed of tetracarboxylate dicopper(II) units bridged by bipyridine spacers.

4 H ‐3,1‐Benzoxathiine aus Benzothiet und Carbonylverbindungen

1990

4H-3,1-Benzoxathiines from Benzothiete and Carbonyl Compounds The o-quinoid 8-π electron system 2, generated by thermal ring opening of benzothiete (1) undergoes [8π + 2π] cycloaddition reactions with electron-deficient carbonyl compounds 3. In accordance with the frontier orbital theory, 4H-3,1-benzoxathiines (4) are obtained in a regioselective manner.

Acid-Promoted Rearrangement of the Metalated Thienyl Rings in Dirhodium(II) Complexes with Thienyl Phosphines as Ligands

2006

Several mono- and bis-cyclometalated compounds have been prepared and characterized from the thermal reaction of dirhodium(II) tetraacetate and tris(2-thienyl)phosphine, P(2-C4H3S)3 (1), in toluene/acetic acid mixtures. In refluxing acetic acid, the mono-cyclometalated compound Rh2(O2CCH3)3[(2-C4H2S)P(2-C4H3S)2] (CH3CO2H)2 (2A) isomerizes to Rh2(O2CCH3)3[(3-C4H2S)P(2-C4H3S)2](CH3CO2H)2 (2B), which results from the selective rearrangement of the metalated ring from a 2-thienyl to a 3-thienyl structure. In the same conditions, the bis-cyclometalated compounds of formula Rh2(O2CCH3)2[(2-C4H2S)P(2-C4H3S)2]2(CH3CO2H)2 and with head-to-tail (3AA) or head-to-head (4AA) configuration of the phosphi…

Kinetische Untersuchungen zu Diels‐Alder‐Reaktionen des Cyclooctins mit anschließender Aromatisierung

1984

Kinetic Investigations of Diels-Alder-Reactions of Cyclooctyne with Consecutive Aromatization The tricyclic compounds 3a – g, generated from cyclooctyne (1) and the cycl…

Unusual stability of reaction intermediates in ortho-metalation reactions of dicyclohexylphenylphosphane with dirhodium(II) tetraacetate

2013

Abstract Reaction of dirhodium(II) tetraacetate with 1 molar equivalent of dicyclohexylphenylphosphane afforded the complex [Rh 2 (μ-O 2 CCH 3 ) 3 {μ-(C 6 H 4 )PCy 2 }(CH 3 COOH) 2 ] ( 1 ) in which the phosphane ligand is coordinated to the rhodium atoms in a bridging ortho -metalated mode. As a second product, [Rh 2 (μ-O 2 CCH 3 ) 3 {μ-(C 6 H 4 )PCy 2 }(CH 3 COOH)(PhPCy 2 )] ( 2 ) was isolated from the same reaction. 2 proved to be unusually stable toward further reaction to a doubly ortho -metalated complex which has been accessible in the reaction of dirhodium(II) tetraacetate with other phosphane ligands. However, doubly ortho -metalated [Rh 2 (μ-O 2 CCH 3 ) 2 {μ-(C 6 H 4 )PCy 2 } 2 (CH…

New oxygenated eudesmanolides from artemisia herba-alba

1990

Abstract The aerial parts of Artemisia herba-alba Asso subsp.valentina Lam. (Asteraceae) yielded the new eudesmanolides 1-11 and the new sesquiterpene-monoterpene adducts 12-13. The absolute configuration of compound 6 was confirmed with the aid of X-ray diffraction analysis. Some aspects of the thermal and photochemical reactivity of 2,4-cyclohexadienones are discussed.
